Accesses rows in clustered tables based on index cluster key
This operation is implemented in the following versions
|
This is an example of the functionality replaced by TABLE ACCESS (BY USER ROWID)
This example was developed using Oracle 7.3.4
This example requires the following table definition
CREATE CLUSTER cl1 (c1 NUMBER); CREATE TABLE t1 (c1 NUMBER,c2 NUMBER) CLUSTER cl1 (c1); CREATE INDEX i1 ON CLUSTER cl1;
The cluster and table do not need to be analysed
The statement
SELECT c2 FROM t1 WHERE c1 = 0;
generates the following execution plan
0 SELECT STATEMENT Optimizer=CHOOSE 1 0 TABLE ACCESS (CLUSTER) OF 'T1' 2 1 INDEX (UNIQUE SCAN) OF 'I1' (NON-UNIQUE)
